Hello Lynn – I am writing to you today because I recently read on your blog posting that you were disappointed with a gift order that you received from us. In reviewing the order history, I can see that we certainly did experience some problems getting your monthly gift clubs out to you in the expected time frame. I really do apologize for our errors and I can assure you that is not our normal ordering process.D00dz, someone reads this blog! Or, at least, read one entry. I am ever so chuffed and must go lie down before I am overcome by ego.
I am glad to hear that you are a fan of King Arthur Flour / Baker’s Catalogue and enjoy our products. As a way of apology for the troubles you experienced with your order, I am sending you a gift certificate for $25.00 to use in a future order. I appreciate your patience and hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve you in the future. We look forward to hearing from you.

Memo: The Trucks Move Both Ways Through the Intertubes
This was in my inbox when I came home from work:

While I welcome comments (they make me *squee* like a fangirl), please don't leave comments just for the sake of promoting your own blog, product, or contest.
When you leave blatantly promotional comments, you crush my hope of building a personal connection with you and that makes me so sad, I have to spend the rest of the day looking at lolcats and eating cheese.

Lynn, were you felled by ego, or did you make it to the couch first? :)
ReplyDeleteNot only did ONE King Arthurite read it — here's another one chiming in. We become very annoyed at ourselves when things don't go right for our customers, and I hope the gift certificate helps make up for the trouble you had. We're an amployee-owned company, and believe me, all 167 of us are sorry we let you down! P.J. Hamel, King Arthur Flour test kitchen baker
